This is my favorite website for learning Japanese at the moment. You can create a free account and have full access during your 7-day trial. After that you have the possibility to pay for premium or continue with a basic access which is good enough in the beginning. And you can also download the free app to learn on the go.
Italki.com Website and App
This is also a great website for learning Japanese. It’s a platform that gathers students and language teachers in a 1-to-1 learning class. You can find professional teachers or community tutors to help you learn the language you want. The best thing about this website is that a 1-hour class can cost as low as $4 with a native speaker. And you can also download the free app on your smartphone.

This is an excellent book to learn the Japanese basic writing systems. It uses pictures mnemonics to help you memorize and it explains the basic rules to use hiragana or katakana. There are also several exercises for practicing your writing and reading.
Japanese from Zero! 1: Proven Techniques to Learn Japanese for Students and Professionals
This is a great book to start learning Japanese by yourself. It is great for beginners because it actually takes you from zero. It is the first of a 4 books series and you can complete your learning with the “Kana from zero “and “Kanji from zero” books.
